New KC50 Android Kiosk Computer from Zebra is the Ultimate in Flexibility

Video

Completely customizable, Zebra’s new KC50 Android Kiosk Computer has many use cases in retail, hospitality, medical, and more.

Today we’re talking about the Zebra KC50 kiosk solution, featuring a nice, big, beautiful screen here with an integrated scanner and light bar at the top. There’s a very flexible solution allowing you to configure in the ways you need, including a single screen, dual screen as you see here, integrated payment terminals, integrated printers, etc.

This is Zebra’s first dedicated kiosk hardware and I think they’ve done an amazing job here. It is a very good-looking piece of equipment and I think the flexibility is going to be a real game changer. When you add on top of that the zebra DNA that comes with all of their devices, the ability to use their staging tools and their management tools, as well as their known ruggedness and quality, I think you’ve got a solid solution here for the kiosk use cases.

I can see this in retail use cases, and I think that’s kind of self-evident by how attractive this unit is. But I could also see it in hospitality where you would want it in maybe the front of a hotel or the front of a restaurant.

I could also see this in healthcare use cases, such as in a hospital and acute settings, or even in government use cases, maybe at a DMV or something like that. It is a very versatile, functional and flexible solution.

Now the KC50 could come with one or two displays. The KC50 itself, this unit can be 22 inches or 15 inches, and the companion display, the TD50, could be 15 inches. Of course, you could add a scanner, even though it’s got a built in scanner. Maybe you would like a Bluetooth scanner or an extra external scanner, a payment terminal featuring Zebra Pay if you would like, and the printer. Additionally, there are optional floor mount stands.

Here we see the pedestal stand and they also offer a wall mount stand. One of the really nice things about this is the connectivity options. You obviously get Wi-Fi as any Android based tablet would give you, but you also have Ethernet and even Power over Ethernet which is a really nice option for kiosk installations.

Both the main screen here, the KC50 itself as well as the TD50 can be powered over Ethernet. One of the features I find interesting about this Zebra Kiosk offering is the integrated Conversational Digital Voice Assistant.

It is designed for voice interactions and includes a noise cancelling microphone as well as dual speakers. The dual speakers ensure clarity and volume even in noisy environments. The possible integration of the Zebra Pay solution into this kiosk unit is also very interesting and it enables lots of different formats, including tap to pay from Apple Pay, Google Pay and others.

Now, one of the reasons that we choose Zebra quite often is because we know our line of business use cases. They don’t stop or they don’t change, or they don’t. They’re not something that we could keep updating on a regular basis. Zebra’s reputation for having long longevity in their solutions is very important. When picking a solution for your use case, Zebra is guaranteeing 4 years of availability, and of course they’ve got their classic support.

Beyond that. Stratix is excited to provide services around this Zebra kiosk solution.
