Position Objective:
Reporting to the VP Finance, the Financial Analyst will be a proactive, independent thinker with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate will provide financial and strategic support to senior management including P&L reporting, KPI/Metrics, monthly close reporting, preparing board presentations, financial projections and other projects requested by senior management. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support business decision making. This position will work closely with the CFO and other executives across the company in their role and as such, requires excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Prepare monthly close materials for use in monthly Executive Meeting.
- Support Financial Accounting by preparing analysis and entries for various lines of business.
- Gather and produce key performance metrics for operational units and for board-level reporting.
- Assist with the annual planning cycle.
- Design, create, and/or customize models using Excel to assist management in understanding the impacts of key drivers of the business. Prepare read outs in PowerPoint or appropriate format.
- Create financial models of “what if” scenarios to help future business planning decisions
- Assist in the Company forecast process by utilizing Workday Adaptive Planning tool. Act as subject matter expert on Adaptive, with ability to design ad hoc reports and teach others.
- Leverage Data Warehouse to drive Business Analytics
- Other projects as assigned.
Requirements:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Finance or Accounting
EXPERIENCE: Experience working in an FPA environment with recurring revenue companies and an understanding of the dynamics of Bookings, ARR, Backlog, Churn, and Customer LTV concepts.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel (including complex formulas, V/Hookup, pivot tables, etc.) and the ability to build complex models required.
- Experience in developing executive and board level reporting packages
- Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning or similar Financial Planning software
- Experience with Oracle EBS or similar financial accounting / ERP software
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar Business Analytics / Visualization tools
- Proven strength in analytical and reasoning skills with the ability to quickly grasp complex business concepts.
- Ability to manage projects in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to work hours needed to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service focus. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work with executives, customers and partners across all levels of the organization.
