Position Objective

The Junior Systems Administrator supports PC’s and local area networks (LANs) across the organization.  Participate in the installation, and support of desktop devices, hardware, software, and communication systems. Install and resolve user issues and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Install & configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications
  • Talk staff through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues
  • Prioritize & manage many open cases at one time
  • Assist with onboarding and off-boarding of users
  • Accurately record, update, and document requests using the IT service desk system
  • Ability to follow directions and problem solve fundamental IT related issues

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience with technical, hands-on experience in support and corporate IT user environments, including Microsoft Technologies and office products
  • 4 years related experience in basic networking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate at working technical level and executive level
  • Experience proposing and closing technical projects with other departments and customers. Environment

Working Conditions

Working with power, heavy lifting, power tools such as drills is required. Working in a controlled cold environment is also required.

Core office and work hours are Monday-Friday, from 8:30 AM-5:30 PM.    Will occasionally need to work after normal office hours and on weekends, and required overnight travel is less than 5%.
