Communications Specialist

Position Summary
Stratix seeks an enthusiastic Communications Specialist to manage our external and internal conversations. Strong communication and copywriting skills and experience with social media and influencer outreach are needed for this role. Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Management:
- Craft and manage a strategy for sharing Stratix’s thought leadership across social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Work with our subject matter experts (SMEs) on thought leadership messaging and building their social media personas.
- Monitor social media channels, respond to questions/comments, or triage to SMEs and maintain a positive presence online.
- Research and recommend new social media listening and engagement tools to help us find and interact with the appropriate audiences in our various industry verticals.
- Content Creation:
- Produce snackable videos, images, newsletters, social media content, news releases, and emails that align with the organization’s goals and voice.
- Public Relations:
- Create and distribute press releases to generate media coverage for announcements, events, or news.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets to secure positive coverage and manage responses to inquiries.
- Manage communication during times of crisis or when the organization faces negative media attention, ensuring consistent and clear messaging.
- Identify, track & coordinate submissions for industry awards.
- Internal Communications:
- Develop communication strategies to inform employees about company news, policies, and events through newsletters, emails, or intranet platforms.
- Assist with communicating internal events and Stratix Cares community events, such as town halls, food drives, and DEI activities, ensuring they align with organizational messaging.
- Help drive better recruitment through social media announcements and managing our relationships with recruiting sites like Glass Door and Indeed.
- Brand Messaging and Reputation Management:
- Ensure all communications adhere to the organization’s branding guidelines, values, and tone of voice.
- Track how the public perceives the organization and address any potential reputation issues before they escalate.
- Research and Analytics:
- Understand the needs and preferences of target audiences to tailor communication strategies effectively.
- Analyze the effectiveness of communication efforts using metrics like engagement rates, media mentions, or website traffic.
- Analyze social media performance metrics and use this data to optimize future content.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in communications strategy development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Working knowledge of MS Office. Experience with photo and video editing software is an asset.
- Content writing experience for all media platforms.
- Experience using social media publishing and monitoring tools.
- Understanding of graphic design principles and experience with Canva or similar tools.
- Ability to measure the success of content.
